Tray Covers

Tray covers block light from reaching roots, an important part of the Kratky method. They can be made from 1-inch XPS foam, aluminum, or corrugated plastic, with 18 to 21 holes per tray sized at 1.125 inches for Q-Plugs. Growers are encouraged to experiment and share what works so we can pass along good ideas to others.

Microgreen trays with lids help maintain humidity during the germination process. You can comfortably fit 6 microgreen trays per shelf. We recommend skipping the included paper mats and using 1 to 2-ply paper towels, which allow roots to grow through more easily.
